Happy New Year, 2013!

Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful evening last night! Pat and I had a quiet evening (by our standards) at home with the two youngest kids. The littles treated us by going to bed early (by our standards) and Pat and I were able to order donairs and catch up on Dexter. We topped off our wild night by going to bed at 10pm. Haha.
Oh man, writing that out makes me feel OLD! But we did have a great night.
It was nice to sit and talk about our hopes for the coming year. We didn’t dwell a whole lot on the year that has past, as 2012 held a few tough surprises for us, especially Xander’s regression and the medical circus that has followed. But you know, when all was said and done, I think we rocked 2012 to the best of our ability and you can’t ask for more than that..
2012 was also the first year that I managed to keep a resolution for the entire year!
Resolution Edit

Not too shabby, right?
This year my resolution is to be better to myself. I’m going to take time for me this year. This past year I was so overwhelmed with Xander’s increased needs that I really put myself on the back burner. This year I am going to take the time to eat right, to shower, to do my makeup, and to wear clean clothes that are not meant for a sport I am not competing in. Sorry Lululemon! Also, I might even pee alone once in a awhile! All of this seems like common sense, but it’s easy to get so sucked into the role of caring for others that you over look your own needs. This year I will be better to ME so I can be happier and therefore better wife and mother.
Wish me luck!

So here’s to all of you who share your time with me by reading my words. Thank you for making my first year of blogging an incredible success. I wish you a new year that brings you enough sunshine to make you happy and a few storms to make you strong.

Dawn

Now, what are your New Years Resolutions? Do you bother to make any? Are you good at keeping them?

Excellent – I forget which entry contained the happy squeals, but HURRAY. He’s getting the hang of Christmas in his own way. And no, ‘my husband’s ex-girlfriend’ is not a typical response.

Go you! Hope you do take care of yourself more this year. We want you to be healthy!! Love your quiet evening. When we lived in CA, we used to celebrate NY time (9pm pacific) and call it a night, ha! Now that I live near NYC, I can’t do that anymore. Happy New Year, hope it’s a good one :)
